13,000 years – pre-history in Småland
- Permanent exhibition
- Smålands museum
Traces of pre-history are found all around us in the landscape. Sometimes well visible and marked with signs, and sometimes hidden in the ground beneath our feet.
In the exhibition 13,000 years we want to present an image of life from the Stone Age until the end of the Iron Age. Here, you also get to experience how landscapes and climate have changed over time. We display examples of objects found in the landscape, and which are now in the museum’s collections. In the exhibition, we mainly describe the area in Småland which today is called Kronoberg County. Of course the division into counties has been added in recent times and had no significance for people in the period described in the exhibition.
