Växjö in the 19th century
- Permanent exhibition
- Smålands museum
Småland Museum, Swedens oldest provincial museum, emerged in the 19th century. Much happened during the dynamic 19th century, and only a limited part can therefore be shown. Because of this, the museum’s halls and storehouse have gradually filled up with traces of the past.
In terms of their historical context, they have become objects for future generations to care for and cherish. However, what kind of object is it? Who donated or purchased it? Why?
There are many questions, and the exhibition “Kronoberg in the 19th century” tries to answer some of them. It reflects how the county’s inhabitants were moving from one type of society to another.
All texts in the exhibition are presented in swedish.
