Museiklubben – for creative and curious children

Museiklubben is Smålands Museum’s club for creative children who want to meet and do fun activities at the museum. The club focuses on hands-on creativity, meaning we paint, sculpt, and craft in many ways. Often, we start the session by exploring an exhibition for inspiration.

Audio guide

The history hunt

If you want to explore the region’s history beyond the museum walls, we recommend The History Hunt, our audio guide for children. At three different locations, you’ll meet children from various historical periods. By the shores of Lake Bolmen lies the medieval castle Piksborg, where you’ll find Olaf. In Lenhovda, exciting and slightly spooky events have occurred throughout history—discover the stories and meet Sigrid there. At Inglinge Mound in Ingelstad, you’ll encounter Torlöf from the Iron Age. Through a mysterious time-travel adventure, these children once met but were later separated. With your help, they can be reunited!

13,000 years

The traces of people from other times are all around us—visible and hidden beneath the ground. In the exhibition 13,000 Years, you can experience how landscapes, climate, and human life in Kronoberg have changed since the Ice Age melted away. The exhibition also shows how archaeologists interpret traces and objects, from the oldest arrowhead to Viking-era burial finds.

The new land
Föremål från utställningen Det nya landet på Utvandrarnas hus

For over 100 years, more than a million Swedes have travelled to America to start a new life. In this exhibition, you can follow their journey—from leaving Sweden across the Atlantic to life in the new land. Here, you will encounter stories of people who left everything behind to find a new future.

Children and adults can explore together what it was like to travel in the past, what the emigrants brought, and how their new everyday life looked.
