Emigrant research

The Swedish Emigrant Institute’s research service only responds to questions that can be related to emigration. For questions relating to family history in general and which don’t relate to emigration, a number of digital databases are available, such as Ancestry, ArkivDigital, the Digital Research Room (previously SVAR), myheritage.se etc.

The research room is open on week days, only booked visits. To make sure there is an opportunity to do research, book your visit in the form below!
